I see various groups promoting zero growth but they never seem to get heard on a national scale. They get lost in the noise of the Internet. Even "ZPG" (now called "The Population Connection" for PC reasons) has barely made a dent in decades of existence. Only a fraction of people I know question growth as a bad thing, even while whining about its side effects! Something must happen besides calling for public education because it keeps getting swamped by "conserv"ative greed propaganda on AM radio and TV. People flock to rhetoric that makes them feel good and it's hard to stop because most people are shallow.

The media has to stop dwelling on the price of this and the cost of that (i.e. oil) and finally educate the public about the resources behind the money. Some news organizations come close but never quite tackle the big issue. You'd think CNN would report growthism as a serious problem since Ted Turner is an ardent ZPG-er, but I haven't seen it yet. Maybe there's some clever way to break the media's silence and someone just needs to find it?
