The once common red knot, a bird which migrates from pole to pole twice a year, becomes a rare site on the beaches of Delaware Bay as increased catches of horseshoe crabs to use as bait has denied the birds their food supply, pitting wildlife preservationists against fishermen once again as the world's ever more numerous two-legged fish-eaters demand to be fed.
